Nate's Gig Toolkit
Package: com.natesgigtoolkit.app
Beta 01.00.01
Effective August 1, 2026

Nate's Gig Toolkit helps adult gig workers track trips, mileage, earnings, expenses, receipts, vehicles, maintenance, and related business records. The Beta is designed to keep those records on your device. The developer does not operate an account system, cloud-sync service, analytics service, or advertising service for this Beta.

Information stored on your device

The app may store information you enter, import, scan, or generate, including:

This information is stored locally in the app's private storage. It is not automatically uploaded to the developer.

Optional location and weather features

If you enable GPS mileage tracking, the app uses device location while a tracked trip is active. It applies conservative GPS accuracy, jitter, gap, impossible-jump, and sustained-speed filtering and stores cumulative distance rather than a route history. GPS mileage is an estimate: slow driving or non-driving movement may affect it, so confirm it against your odometer or manual records. Location used for mileage tracking is processed locally and is not sent to the developer.

If you enable weather, the app sends latitude and longitude rounded to one decimal degree to Open-Meteo over HTTPS to request current weather. The request also includes ordinary network information such as your IP address, requested fields and units, and the app User-Agent. It does not include trips, routes, earnings, tips, expenses, receipts, screenshots, customer information, or device identifiers. Weather is optional and does not block core recordkeeping. Open-Meteo processes requests under its own privacy practices.

Images, OCR, and document scanning

Text recognition for selected trip and receipt images is performed on-device using bundled ML Kit text recognition. The app does not upload those images for OCR.

Android system pickers are used when you select images or documents, so the app does not request broad access to your photo library or storage. The optional document-scanning interface is supplied by Google Play services. Google Play services may download required modules or models and processes the scanner interface under Google's applicable terms. The app receives the scan you choose and processes it locally.

Permissions

Depending on which optional features you use, the app may request:

The Beta does not request contacts, phone, SMS, microphone, advertising ID, background location, or broad photo/media permissions. The app itself does not request camera permission; the optional document scanner uses a Google Play services interface.

Diagnostics

After a crash, the app may retain a sanitized local diagnostic record with the build, time, exception class, thread, a short crash identifier, and app-owned stack frames. It is designed to exclude exception messages, business records, user-entered text, customer information, image content, location, and device identifiers. Diagnostics are not transmitted automatically. You decide whether to copy and share them.

Exports and encrypted backups

Exports and backups are created only when you request them and are saved to a location you choose through Android. Portable backups are encrypted on your device using a PIN or passphrase you select. The developer does not possess your decryption key and cannot recover a lost PIN or passphrase. Anyone who obtains both the encrypted backup and the correct credential may be able to decrypt it.

Advertising, payments, accounts, and telemetry

The private Beta contains:

Android and Google services

The app uses AndroidX, Google Play services, ML Kit, and related platform components for app operation, document scanning, and on-device text recognition. Google may process ordinary service, security, module-download, and network information under Google's Privacy Policy. The developer does not receive that information from Google.

Retention and deletion

Records remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Supported individual records can be deleted inside the app. To erase all app data, use Android Settings → Apps → Nate's Gig Toolkit → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.

Android automatic cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for the app. Files you manually export or back up remain wherever you chose to save or share them and must be deleted there separately.

Security

The app uses Android private storage and local encryption for portable backups, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device protected, retain original business records while testing, review all OCR results, and store exported files and backup credentials securely.

Adults only

Nate's Gig Toolkit is intended for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children.

Independent product

Nate's Gig Toolkit is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any gig-work platform.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the app changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected in an updated policy made available with the applicable app release.
